You can become a performance ballet dancer and go to auditions to land parts. You can join a dance group. You can take up popular dance and be in music videos. And these are just a few examples.

Here is more information on what you need to know to become a dancer.

Choose a focus. Which kinds of dance do you like the best? You can either choose to be a specialist or a generalist. If your sole purpose is to be a belly dancer, or a ballet dancer, for example, then there is no need for you to learn jazz or hip hop dancing. However, if you want to be in musicals, you may need to learn some general skills.

Set goals. This is an important step for any career. Here is where you define exactly what kind of dancer you want to be and what it will take to get there. Be as specific as possible when setting these goals. Goals are your roadmap. If you don’t bother to do this, you run the danger of not achieving your dream.

Take classes. In the beginning, the most important thing you can do is learn new skills and get in shape. Dancers have toned, flexible bodies. This one trait is common no matter which type of dance you decide to pursue. Take as many classes as you want. The more skills you learn, the better.

Practice makes perfect. Even when you aren’t taking classes, make sure you practice each day. Practice your moves as long as you can, for at least an hour. (Or more if you have the time). Even if you can’t squeeze in an hour of practice time, do something each day. A big part of this business is going to auditions and getting parts. You’ll have an advantage if you practice as much as possible.

Perform and audition. As mentioned, a big part of this business is to go to auditions and land parts. But, there is also another aspect. You can certainly take it upon yourself to get business. For example, if you are a belly dancer, you would go through the same process bands do to land a gig in a restaurant or club. And, if it has been a while between jobs, don’t let your performance skills get rusty. Find reasons to get up in front of people. You don’t want to let your stage presence skills get rusty.

Go to school. If you are truly serious about performing dance for a living, you may want to attend a performing arts high school and/or university. This is not a necessary step for success, but the opportunities you will have while in school can be very helpful. Teachers no doubt have connections and you will be presented with plenty of opportunities to perform and hone your craft.

Mayweather Jr mengaku tidak masalah bila gagal menghadapi Pacman. Petinju asal Amerika Serikat (AS) itu telah menyiapkan lawan tanding sepadan untuk menggantikan Pacman. Dia adalah Matthew Hatton.

Sayang, keinginan Mayweather Jr menghadapi Hatton sepertinya sulit. Pasalnya, adik kandung Ricky Hatton itu tidak mau mengambil keputusan yang terlalu cepat, dengan menerima tantangan The Pretty Boy.

“Saya sangat terkejut dihubungkan dengannya,” kata Hatton “Saya sedang berpesta ketika mengetahui bahwa mereka ingin tahu apakah saya tertarik ingin melawan Mayweather.”

I'm a big fan of letting kids release their feelings -- but that doesn't mean you're stuck listening to screaming, crying kids all the time! Kids can release their feelings through laughter too. (And it's usually a LOT more fun for everyone) There are bunches of ways to bring more humor into our everyday lives.

Here are a few of my favorites:

1) Try something spontaneous or silly.

If it brings a smile to their little faces, keep it up! You might be surprised at what is funny to your kids. For young children and babies, something as simple as putting a stuffed animal on your head and pretending you don't know it's there can produce peals of laughter - especially if you also do a funny face or goofy voice. For older kids, fart noises are a sure win. (heehee) Remember keep on being silly until they stop laughing! If you're not all lying on the floor in a cuddle puddle, you're not done yet.

2) Play the fool.

This brings SO much joy to young people... Anytime you can't remember something simple --or you're acting extra clumsy -- you have an opportunity to make them laugh. Not only do they get to laugh at you, they also get to feel smarter and more powerful than you, (Which is a fun change from the norm.) Try asking your three year old where things are in your home -or forgetting what sounds certain animals make -- and you'll have hours of playful fun.

3) Play the Feather Touch Game.

Like playing the fool, the Feather Touch game lets your child be strong while you be the (much) weaker one. Just pretend you're going about your business, but when your child gently touches you... Suddenly fall down! Then pretend you're not sure what happened, "Whoa, that must have been a strong wind! One minute I was standing up, and the next thing I knew I was on the ground!"

4) Allow Your Child to be in charge of all tickling.

In case you're wondering... tickling is only fun when the person being tickled is in charge. When I was young and playing with my Mom, I LOVED to be tickled, but only because I trusted that my mom would stop, when I said stop. Being tickled against my will might have seemed like it was fun to an outsider-I was laughing after all... But inside I felt hurt and angry because I didn't have any power over my experience. Tickling can also be scary, even terrifying for kids.

So, yes, tickle your kids if they like it, and ask for it, and make sure they know that you'll stop when they say so. It's another fun way to release feelings safely.

Samsung Corby dapat menjawab Budaya masyarakat yang suka memiliki dua handset menjadi peluang bagi vendor ponsel. Ponsel yang disukai adalah harga mid end, namun kualitas high end.

Managing Direktur PT Sarindo Putra Persada, distributor tunggal Huawei di Indonesia, Hero Tjokroardi mengatakan ke depan konsumen akan menyambut handset-handset di kelas menengah.

“Beberapa minggu ke depan akan terlihat bagaimana respon pasar terhadap ponsel dengan harga mid end, namun kualitas high end,” ujarnya di Jakarta, kemarin. Beberapa vendor telah intensif di kelas menengah ini. Samsung mengenalkan Corby, sedangkan LG memiliki GW 300 yang harganya berkisar Rp1,5 jutaan.

“Tahun depan adalah tahun yang sangat baik untuk segala jenis ponsel di Indonesia, dan penetrasi ponsel akan mencapai sekitar 60%,” ujar Brand Manager Integrated & Marketing Communication Huawei Yunny Christine.

Pasar ponsel di Indonesia sendiri kata Yunny, sangat menantang. Hal itu karena budaya masyarakat Indonesia yang suka memiliki dua handset sekaligus. Kondisi seperti itu sebagai peluang dan sekaligus tantangan.

Sementara strategi bundling dengan operator dinilai masih tepat untuk memasarkan ponsel kelas menengah. Menurut Yunny, prospek bundling ke depan akan semakin baik. Bahkan dari hasil studi internal, strategi bundling setidaknya akan mengantarkan Huawei bisa menembus pangsa pasar 30%.

Ponsel kelas menengah juga menarik Bakrie Telecom untuk terjun ke dalamnya. Wakil Presiden Direktur Bakrie Telecom Erik Meijer mengatakan tren terus berkembang. Selama ini voice dan SMS yang diutamakan, namun kebutuhan pelanggan atas layanan data juga meningkat

“Kami harus memenuhi kebutuhan pelanggan yang saat ini membutuhkan akses ke Facebook, Twitter serta jaringan sosial yang lain,” katanya. Ia membantah Bakrie Telecom terlambat atau latah melihat kesuksesan operator lain dalam membundling handset untuk jejaring sosial. Ia mengungkapkan handset yang ditawarkan merupakan hal baru.

“Handpone kami seperti bayi karena untuk menyiapkannya saja hingga 9 bulan,” kilahnya. Sebagai pembeda dengan handset lain, ia mengatakan Bakrie Telecom menyediakan aplikasi lengkap. Tak hanya lengkap, aplikasi itu juga legal. “Kami membayar pada pemilik aplikasi. Jadi aplikasi resmi, bukan akses kembar,” tegasnya.

Ia mengatakan potensi pengguna aplikasi jejaring sosial itu sangat besar. Seperti Facebook di Indonesia memiliki 12 juta pengguna. Bakrie Telecom sendiri menargetkan bisa memiliki 14 juta pelanggan pada 2010. Pada kuartal III 2009 Bakrie Telecom telah memiliki 9,8 juta pelanggan dan akhir tahun diperkirakan akan mencapai 10,5 juta.
